RECORD REVIEWS: The LPs that were played the most and had the biggest impact on me in 2024, regardless of whether or not they were released this year...
Thank You so much. I enjoy this zine. It’s exactly what I’m looking for. I will have to find some The Only Ones records. They are right up my alley of late 70s, early 80s bands like Television and Magazine.
Cheers for this. Didn’t know there was a new God Bullies album out. Saw them about 100 years ago at an Am Rep showcase at The Venue in New Cross. The singer was huge. Halo of Flies also played - they were so drunk they managed 15 minutes and fell off the stage and that was that. Helmet were brutal.
I'm one of those people still drawn to the more "concrete" side of the band, but their genius and abiltiy to push just the right boundaries and just the right time is undeniable. "Rampen" is incredible.
In truth I still love the noise, but I’m keen to let people know there’s more to them than drills, oil drums and sledgehammers. They were amazing on the Rampen tour!
Ooh! Marvelous. I’d have loved to see that. Caught Cows and Hammerhead at The Underworld - and, actually, Supersuckers, Dwarves and Rev Horton Heat at The Venue for a Sub Pop showcase. I think that was the only time I ever went there.

That’s great to hear! Glad you’re enjoying it! Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
Great list! Thank you for using bandcamp links.
Thanks! I always try to use Bandcamp. I only resort to Youtube if the band in question’s not on there. :)
